Ronald L Willson, MD, FACS
Dr. Ronald Willson earned his Bachelor of Science degree cum laude in Chemistry from Union College in Schenectady, New York, and his medical degree with Distinction in Research from the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine. He continued his training with an Internship in Internal Medicine at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York, and a Residency in Ophthalmology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. Dr. Willson completed a Fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery at the Foundation for Retinal Research in New Orleans.
A Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Willson is a vitreoretinal physician and surgeon practicing in New Orleans since 2001. He is a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists, American Academy of Ophthalmology, Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society.
Dr. Willson has been a prolific researcher, serving as investigator for a number of clinical trials. He is also the author of peer-reviewed journal articles and research symposia presentations. Dr. Willson has participated in numerous lectures, seminars and medical conferences on various ophthalmic topics as well.
