Kathy H Ta, MD, FACS
Dr. Kathy Ta earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Cell and Molecular Biology Magna Cum Laude from Tulane University in New Orleans and her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport. She completed an Internship in Internal Medicine at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans and her Residency in Ophthalmology at Louisiana State University Health and Science Center and Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. Dr. Ta furthered her training with Fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery at The Foundation for Retinal Research in New Orleans.
Dr. Ta served as Chief Resident during her time at LSU/Ocshner. She has been honored with numerous recognitions and awards including Excellence in Ophthalmology Award, The Philip H. Jones Scholarship for Academic Excellence, Medical Student Research Grant Program and Distinguished Scholars Award.
She maintains medical staff privileges at East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie, LA, Sterling Surgical Hospital in Slidell, LA, Avala Hospital in Covington, LA and Garden Park Medical Center in Gulfport, MS. She is an active researcher, participating in numerous ongoing clinical investigations in ophthalmology focused on diseases of the Retina, Macula and Vitreous. Dr. Ta is a member of The American Academy of Ophthalmology and The American Society of Retina Specialists.
